Ji Young Yang, Soprano
The SCSO welcomes Soprano Ji Young Jang to the Mondavi stage in Carmina Burana on May 2, 2010.
A recent graduate of the Adler Fellowship program of the San Francisco Opera, the young Korean soprano JiYoung Yang is a gifted singer possessing a voice of sheer beauty and described as "silvery," "fluent," and "graceful." Since making her San Francisco Opera debut in 2007, Ms. Yang has sung with distinguished opera companies and orchestras in the US and has demonstrated exceptional artistic expressiveness on the concert, recital and operatic stages.
Opera companies and orchestras with whom Ms. Yang has performed in addition to San Francisco Opera include Boston Lyric Opera, the San Francisco Symphony and Chorus, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the UC Davis Symphony Orchestra, Gold Coast Ensemble, and Earplay. Ms. Yang looks forward to her European concert debut in 2010 with the BBC Scottish Symphony in Glasgow and Perth where she sings the Soprano Solo in Mahler's 4th Symphony.
